    Summer School with The Peaceful Press

    Do you school through the summer? We learn year-round, but aim for a more relaxed routine during the summer. In summer, we like to lean a bit more toward ‘lifeschooling’ by learning life skills and learning from what is around us. This summer has been a perfect opportunity to use The Peaceful Press guides in an unschooling manner.   The Playful Pioneers   We started our summer by beginning The Playful Pioneers.     Summer Science

    What do you do during the summer in terms of home education? Are you 365-homeschoolers? Do you focus on just one subject for the summer? Do you take a break from academics for the season? Do your children participate in summer camps and special events? We like to take a more laid-back approach to give everyone a break from our routine. The state of Florida doesn’t require schooling over the summer, so I don’t log our attendance and record every activity we do.     Summertime

    Is school out for summer at your house? Growing up, I never had a concept of a ‘real kid’ summer. I had divorced parents, which meant two different households. All school year, I lived with my Mom, and for the summer, I went to my Dad’s. It was bittersweet because on the one hand, I missed all of my school friends (and would get quite jealous when I came back after summer break and heard about all the fun and wonderful adventures they had without me), but summers with my Dad were awesome because we took A LOT of trips and I got to see much of our beautiful country…
